Cutting his teeth in the restaurant business, UK born Alex Chesterman’s entrepreneurial path began at the Hard Rock Café in Florida. He founded several successful businesses, including LOVEFiLM and Bagelmania, using his self-taught ability to look at the successful companies of the day and answer the crucial question – why were consumers buying their products? Realising that the property market was seriously lacking the transparency that the internet had provided savvy consumers. He created Zoopla, a one stop shop for the property market, and a platform for better decision making.
So what’s the secret of the success of a man whose interests stretch from baked goods to better homes? “Entrepreneurs are also consumers. “ Alex tells MOO “So it's always led me to the businesses that I've ended up in have always been driven by the consumer in me more than the entrepreneur in me. The entrepreneur in me has followed, saying "Hold on a second. Why is nobody doing this?"
