The 2013 MOO Awards

Welcome to the 2013 MOO Awards!

Our customers are nothing short of remarkable - we're constantly amazed at the fantastic products they make and sell, the way they go above and beyond to deliver delight to their own customers, or the charitable work they do. That's why we've over £20,000 to give away to our most inspiring and unique customers in the 2013 MOO Awards.

The 2013 MOO Awards are now closed for entries.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for ideas, stories and innovations that genuinely stand out from the crowd – and considering that our customers are notoriously great at that, it’s fair to say that the competition is going to be pretty fierce.

To enter the competition, you must:

  • be the founder of a business or charity
  • have 10 or fewer employees
  • be a MOO customer
  • submit your completed entry form by 27th October, 2013

Before you submit your entry, you may want to think about:

1 Your journey

It's fair to say that not many people have “founder of a business” as their first job, so we’d like to hear about what you did before you set up your own business. Why did you decide to do something different? Why choose to take the steps leading to the all important “I’m starting a business!” plunge?

2 Your inspiration

Perhaps you had an unexpected encounter that sparked the “eureka” moment to start your business, or perhaps it was a memorable conversation with someone in your life - or an incident that changed your perspective? Whatever the story is, we want all the juicy details.

3 Your past setbacks

Of course we want to hear your success story – but we also want to hear all about your setbacks. Adversity is what builds character both in business and out of it, so we’d like to hear about any challenges and how you overcame them.

4 Your special something

We’re looking for businesses that can show us passion and ambition, imagination and determination, but above all we're looking for something different. We want to know what makes your business unique - why do you stand out from the crowd?

Terms & Conditions

1. Applications to enter 2013 MOO Awards will be enthusiastically accepted between 12th September 2013 and 27th October 2013 inclusive. But don’t get over-excited – we can’t accept entry forms before the first date (or after the last one – obviously.) 2. If you’re a modernist, you can submit your application via the entry form on moo.com/award. If you’re more of a traditionalist, send your postal entry to: MOO Awards, MOO.COM, 32-38 Scrutton St, London, EC2A 4RQ, UK. 3. You can enter the MOO Awards from anywhere in the world if: a) your company is a customer of moo.com, i.e. has paid for a purchase from moo.com b) the founder, or someone who’s allowed to sign for the founder, submits the application. c) the company has fewer than 10 employees at the time of submission. d) you are not an employee of MOO or Flavors.me. e) you only apply once, and only by methods included in 2) (see above). Any deviation, and you’re in for an honourable discharge. 4. Our judges want to be blown away by your ambition and determination, and most importantly your uniqueness. If we need to see evidence, we’ll ask you to see it – and of course, treat anything you send us with confidentiality. 5. The copyright to all material assembled by MOO Print Ltd. about the MOO Awards will remain with MOO Print Ltd. and may be used to publicise the MOO Awards within the national, regional, international and trade press. By entering this competition, you agree to this use, and to take part in all publicity related to the competition (nothing weird, we promise!) 6. The winner will be invited to receive their trophy and prizes at the MOO Small Business Conference in early 2014 (yup, we’re very excited about this!). MOO will reimburse travel expenses up to £2,000 to the UK (obviously we won’t give you the full £2,000 if it only cost you £2 – we’re nice, not insane) and there is no cash value if you choose not to collect in person or attend the conference. 7. Applications will be pre-screened by the MOO.COM Brand & Marketing Teams, with the expert panel of judges making the final decision. The judging panel’s decision is final. The judges reserve the right to withdraw or transfer any of the awards at their absolute discretion (but this almost definitely won’t happen. You’re all good people.) 8. The prize is non-negotiable and non-refundable (and really awesome, have we mentioned that?) Three winners will each receive £5,000 in cash and £1,000 in MOOlah to spend at MOO.COM. One winner will receive £7,000 in cash and £1,000 in MOOlah to spend at MOO.COM. Winners must have an active MOO.COM account registered to the winner or winner's company in order to receive the MOOlah. 9. The winners will be decided by November 14th, 2013. Once the winners have been decided, they will be informed immediately via phone and must accept within 3 business days (like you’d say no to £5k, right?). 10. Use of inaccurate or false information in entries to the competition is strictly prohibited. So if you do get caught cheating (please don’t!) by providing inaccurate or false information, we reserve the right to disqualify your business from the competition. 11. By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. 12. Any data we receive from entrants to the MOO Awards 2013 will be held in accordance with MOO’s privacy policy. But don’t worry – we’ll keep your data securely to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. The information you provide will be used by the MOO Award judging panel to verify your entry (see number 10) and make sure it’s all totally accurate.
