Executive team
Some people call them 'The Executives', others 'The Management'. In real life, they're much more human than either name makes them sound. Passionate about print and great design, with a wide range of on and offline experience, meet some of the folks behind moo.com
Richard is one of the leading figures on London's tech scene, with an excellent track record in business and a reputation for smart creative thinking.
His name has appeared on a variety of "influential people" lists in recent years, among them The Daily Telegraph's '100 Most Influential People in Technology' list (2008), Digital Media's 'Top 10 most influential people' list in 2009, and Wired Magazine's 'Wired 100' in 2010.
Prior to founding MOO, he worked for design company Imagination as a strategist, for dotcom startup sorted.com, and for the BBC. He has developed a keen eye for what he calls "remarkable consumer products" - things that people actually love to own. That's what's at the core of MOO itself.
Outside MOO, Richard is a board member at investment fund Seedcamp, a founding member of the Awesome Foundation's London Chapter, and a member of the Young Presidents Organisation and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
Richard admits to having made "every mistake in the book" during MOO's early years. He seems to have got the hang of it now, though.
With a career spanning some of the big names in photography and print, Brian's skills in management and e-commerce are essential to the smooth running of MOO.
Brian was on the founding team of Ofoto, one of the early successful online photo services. When Ofoto became Kodak EasyShare Gallery, it was Brian who masterminded massive global expansion of the business.
Later, at Memento Press, he helped create a new niche photo/print product that could be rapidly rolled out to retailers around the world.
His experience has given him an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by fast-growing organisations. An all-rounder with knowledge of product development, manufacturing and finance, Brian is now in charge of day-to-day fulfillment and customer services for MOO in both the US and the UK.
Brian once spent three years on a commercial fishing boat. We're still not sure why.
Over the last 15 years Lisa has built up an impressive portfolio of work for some of the biggest names around, including eBay and Yahoo!
Her career started in Canada at Procter & Gamble, and she's since worked for for Ogilvy & Mather in Toronto, Prague and London for global brands such as IBM, American Express and Motorola. Returning to her native Canada, Lisa became a Marketing Director for eBay and was put in charge of increasing member trading activity.
At Yahoo!, Lisa oversaw the team responsible for identifying the company's key target audiences, making sure that the website offered them exactly what they needed.
Lisa sees how real people use the internet, and understands the things that delight and frustrate them. Her knowledge is a huge asset to MOO, where her focus is on driving revenue and growth while building a lovable brand.
Lisa loves musicals and isn't ashamed to say so. We try hard not to bring up the subject too often.
When you're running a business as dependent on technology as MOO, you need to be sure that your chief technologist knows his stuff. That's why we've got Simon Lambert as our CTO.
Simon has over a decade's experience building complex e-commerce systems for growing online businesses. He spent eight years at one of the UK's greatest dotcom success stories, lastminute.com, where he started as a humble Java developer and rose through the ranks.
He began his management career looking after small teams running specific projects, but over time his responsibilities grew to match his experience. By the end of his time with lastminute.com, Simon had accumulated knowledge about all aspects of technical development, business analysis, and operations.
At MOO, he is responsible for overall technical direction and strategy, ensuring that we keep up-to-date with fast-changing internet technologies that are crucial to the ongoing success of the business.
Simon was once rescued from the top of a mountain by a helicopter.
After being thrown into the entrepreneurial deep end with the MBO Team who acquired Typhoo Tea from Cadbury Schweppes, Sue went on to become youngest ever female finance director of a publicly listed company at Mosaic Investments plc.
7 years after helming Mosaic’s fundraising, rights issues, flotations, refinancing, restructurings and de-mergers, Sue was instrumental in bringing Bolton Wanderers FC to the main market (she helped to buy a few footballers too!)
Several football seasons later, Sue became CFO of online Swedish gambling company Unibet, where under her care it evolved from a 20+ employee base, valued at £65m to a £500m company with over 350 employees.
After dipping her experienced toe into private equity, Sue returned to the online world at Livebookings, before joining the MOO family, where she is the current CFO (and the person who deals with all the financial stuff that nobody else can understand.)
Sue’s favourite moment in life was holding a baby panda in China. Besides this pretty awesome highlight, Sue’s answer to everything is “I’d rather be sailing”.
